As a photographer that has a small business and competes regularly in contests I usually shoot with a DSLR camera. I decided I wanted a new point and shoot to carry with me for those times when I didn’t want to lug all my equipment with me to parties and events and to use for some of my macro shots. It featured the facial recognition and I thought it would be good for close up people shots at small events.

I purchased the Fugifilm Finepix F50fd, 12mp camera as what I call “my purse camera”. I liked the features it listed and the size for carrying in my purse. The price was competitive with other cameras with the same features. I purchased this camera in mid 2009.   This is my third point and shoot camera and the least favorite I have. Although it has the greatest megapixels of any of them, it makes the poorest shots of any of them. I have been so disappointed with the grainy quality of the shots and very poor quality in low light even on shots close enough for the flash to be effective….
