Apple has continued its significant investment in flash memory, with the Cupertino company announcing Tuesday that it recently prepaid $500 million to Toshiba to secure long-term supply of NAND for its mobile devices.

This morning, mobile giant Nokia announced a 66 percent drop in profits for the second quarter, and candidly announced that it doesn’t expect to gain market share, lowering its profitability targets going forward. Almost immediately, the company’s shares plunged 14 percent.
